Unauthorized & Fraudulent Chargebacks

A chargeback should only be filed when there is a legitimate case of unauthorized use of a payment method or when other valid dispute conditions exist.

Customers agree not to initiate a chargeback for reasons that are already covered by our published policies, including but not limited to:

  • Dissatisfaction after receiving a correctly delivered product
  • Failure to review product descriptions before purchase
  • Shipping delays outside of our control
  • Return requests outside of the return eligibility period
  • Refusal to follow our return process
  • Forgetting about a purchase made by the account holder
  • Attempting to obtain products without payment

Chargeback Investigation Process

When a chargeback is filed, Minimal Basics reserves the right to submit evidence to the payment processor, credit card company, bank, or financial institution handling the dispute.

Evidence may include:

  • Order confirmations
  • Billing information
  • Shipping confirmations
  • Delivery tracking records
  • Carrier delivery verification
  • Customer communications
  • Website terms and policies
  • Refund records
  • Return requests and correspondence
  • IP address and fraud prevention records
  • Device and transaction verification data

These records may be used to demonstrate that the order was legitimately placed, fulfilled, and delivered in accordance with our policies.

Fraud Prevention & Chargeback Defense

Minimal Basics actively monitors transactions for fraudulent activity and reserves the right to challenge any chargeback that appears to be fraudulent, abusive, misleading, or inconsistent with the facts of the transaction.

If we believe a chargeback has been filed improperly, we may provide all relevant documentation and transaction records to the issuing bank, payment processor, and dispute resolution teams to support our position.

Chargeback Abuse

Customers who repeatedly file improper or fraudulent chargebacks may be subject to:

  • Cancellation of future orders
  • Refusal of service

Resolving Disputes
